I've been a car nut and usually work on American classics. I was given this Loyale from a friend, and I'm hooked.

  1. I saw a GL wagon the other day turbo 4wd that had a roof line kickup at the rear door. Has anyone seen this type of model?
  2. Hi Fellow Subaru Nuts, I'm working on a '92 Loyale 4x4 with auto trans. Its the EA82. I was experiencing coolant leaking around the timing belt cover and assumed the water pump had failed. While I was on this project, I decided to change the timing belts and seals and oil pump seals. When I pulled of the rear timing covers, I noticed evidence of coolant on the hole on the head of the passenger side. The driver side is dry, but it looked like there is staining there at one point. Is this indicating a problem in the head or is this residual coolant from the water pump? If so, are there checks I can do to confirm this while I have the front of the engine apart? Thanks!
  3. Thanks Dave! Where can I find the FSM schematic? Do you know if this micro switch failure is a common problem? I was lucky enough to get into 4 or 5 loyales at the local pick and pull last month, so I can take additional parts if necessary.
  4. I'm working on a 92 loyale 4wd wagon AT and AC. When I select anything on the panel the AC compressor runs and cycles on and off while its running down the road. I can tell because it pulls on the engine when the compressor engages. I have seen defrost cycles run the AC compressor on some cars, but not the heater. Is this designed into these cars? This is the 2nd panel I have changed on the car because the vacuum valves inside the panel dried up, but both have acted the same way with respect to the AC running. Any suggestions or help is appreciated!
