That's a really nice bumper; you wouldn't consider producing again, would you?
Wouldn't have a problem doing so, I just dont have a old school subaru to fab one up with... I should have made a jig...

What do you know about the header in the OP?
Can't help you there... OPs car was different than the one I owned...

Big ups on the fabrication, I can really respect that... I don't know if its the steel or what but something just doesn't flow right, but to each his own... The lower lights are just waiting to be busted...

Looks like the wagon is getting sold this week, we shall see though... Maybe I should get my STI onto a beach...

Awesomeness, welcome to the subaru family... Looks like a nice garage you got, I'm gonna have to come over and help wrench on it ... Seriously though stay in touch and let me know if you need any help with anything...

No, if the driver side belt went, you would not have spark. The crank angle sensor is built into the distributor. Since the distributor won't spin if the belt is broken, you'll have no signal from the CAS. This means no spark.
I see, thanks for the info!

Still haven't been back to the house to check on things... Anyway, with the dizzy rotor or timing belt, even if there was a problem with one of those items wouldn't there still be spark coming from the coil? Since I have nothing coming from the coil I'm inclined to believe the timing belt is fine and so is the dizzy, thus making me believe something pre-coil is wrong, ie the amp

I'll take a look when i get back to the house, thanks for the input

Thats pretty nice looking bumper...

Just had a great snow last night and on the way back to the house from driving around this morning my wagon cut off and wouldn't start back... After I got it back to the house, tried to start diagnoising it... Appears there is no spark/power from the coil and I have replaced the coil with 2 known good ones and still nothing, thus the problem appears to be before the coil...
After a little bit of researching I've decided I will try and replace the amplifier, little electronic piece that is attached to the bracket that holds the coil... Just want to make sure there isn't anything that I might be missing, all the fuses under the dash are good and the fusible links seem fine and well connected...
Like I said just want to make sure there isn't something else I am over looking or something that I might also want to grab when the local junkyards actually open back up after some of the snow clears..

welcome, nice to see more NC members

Buddy of mined used the copper colored BB's in his 39.5s mounted on beadlocks and the difference was insane... they worked very nicely not to mention how funny it is when you come to a stop and you hear them clanging around on the rim lol...
-
I've got one... Ended up bending the poll thing you use, just cut it and used a piece of pipe to sleve it and fixed.
No good for onroad cars, as you need to still balance them. And just to have that done, for me at least, costs pretty much the same as getting a shop to change and balance them. For their price, probably a good thing to have if you do a lot of offroading.
can through a hand full of BBs into the tire before you mount it, worked pretty well at balancing my buddies 40's on bead locks... not to mention its pretty funny when you come to a stop...

its obvious the camber is out in the pictures but it doesn't look extremely bad in my opinion... the angle on the axles looks to be much more than mine, but i do only have 1.5" blocks.... maybe do some 1.5 inch blocks and increase the angle to around 20 and see if that helps...

the springs are stock '85 adjustable struts that are all the way down
wish I could come take a look, alas all you guys are too far away...
-
Again are the springs stock? Do you have pictures of the tire camber stock versus tire camber now?
-
lowering the cross member isn't a bad idea, it will allow you to put bigger tires under the wheel well , and you will have the cross member at the same height you started with.... pics of the setup would help a lot if you can
I don't see how lowering the cross member allows for bigger tires? I think he likes having the extra clearance under the cross member hence his dilemma...
-
Post some pics of how off your camber is and please post some pics of your lift and the blocks... I think I was able to go beyond 15 degrees something like 20 or so with just 1.5 inches, though I honestly don't recall exactly... But please post some pics...
Oh and are the front springs stock?
-
How did you make your homemade lift? Did mine 1.5 inches and its no worse than before... If you lift via the top of the strut then the key is to build the lift so that the top of the strut is angled further inward than its stock location...

Do you know where I can find a tutorial on how to do this?
Thanks!
Did my passanger front a few weeks ago, pretty simple, took maybe an hour if that... Gonna have to do my drivers side here soon when I get the cash, maybe if there isn't already a write up ill do one for it...
Can anyone identify this front bumper?
in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
