  1. My BRATs lifted so what I did was use the stock hose and the stock carbby upper thermostat housing turned around backwards... its real ghetto lookin, but I'll get a pic when its warmer then -10... I had to do this due to the lift because the stock piece almost hit the radiator:-\
  2. Mudduck, you should come to the Dragon meet. It's in NC where you are.
  3. Well my peeps, it was pretty ok. My favorite part was at the mall when we kinda crowded around that guy and made him move. hee hee. Anyway, for those of you lucky enough to see my beautiful red XT Turbo.... It is for sale! You could be the owner of this wonderful car! See my post titled "gauging interest" under the subaru market place. BTW, Dr. Krazy, that lifted thing is awesome! I love the spare tire on top of the roof. 1986 XT Turbo- R. Dorothy. For sale! ~ "I saw this on McGuyver once. He took the keyboard and hooked it up to a bicycle."
  4. Woohoo! After a bunch of overheating (much like when the radiator cap was pulled off and launched about 100 feet in the air) last night, my guys found the hose the coolant is leaking from!!! Its a small bypass hose toward the back of the engine. KBD is going to be nice and fix it for me. Sooooo..... one less thing wrong with this car. Now all that's wrong with it is the heat/cold flappy door in the engine (KBD says he's gonna try to fix that, too). Oh, and there's the not-so-functional radio. (P.S. This beautiful car may soon be for sale! See my thread "Gauging Interest" in the market place.)
  5. So I was driving to work this morning when once again the heat goes ice cold and my car starts overheating. I JUST checked the coolant level about 3 days ago, and it didn't need any. The few times I checked before then, the level was also fine. And (correct me if I'm wrong, Phil), I believe KBD checked the coolant level when he changed my oil last night. When I went to put more coolant in the car during break, it took a LOT. TurboXT seems to think that its the turbo coolant hose. I guess my question is this: Why or how is my car leaking so much coolant at once, and how come there's not a set pattern to it?
  6. Probably your coolant line. Kind of a common problem in older Soobs. Check your coolant levels... It'll keep making that weird noise until you "burp" the coolant system. It should be fine after that.
  7. Get rid of your XT and buy something that doesn't have a moon roof......... ps I like you're avi, xoomer.
  8. hee hee. Sure, let's all go crash at someone's house and play video games... on the day we're celebrating our anniversary.... ok, sure. My boyfriend really knows how to be romantic!
  9. That didn't seem to work for Rick..... :-p
  10. I've never understood the mindset of getting completely bombed on your 21st birthday. Acutally, I don't understand why people get so drunk anyway... for my 21st, I had fondue!!! uh, yeah. I always thought it would be fun to go to Vegas. You know, to see what all the hype is about. You should go to Vegas.
  11. If you want to look at it, be my guest. I'm not sure I plan on keeping it much longer, though.
  12. you can come with me if you want, Jeff. offroadsubaruguy- when I coordinate meets, they are usually on a Saturday, 'cause I used to have to work them all the time and it was a nice excuse to get the day off. Ha ha. Next time I coordinate a meet, I'll make sure to make it a Saturday just for you.
  13. I've driven my car about 80-90 miles since I filled it full of coolant. When I checked today, it didn't need any. I'll keep checking, but it must be a slow-ish leak. Its still been too cold to look over the hoses. I'll see if I can get one of my guys to do it tomorrow.
  14. It's a trend, I swear. No one listens to me..... Well, I hope it gets working for you.
  15. I know what your problem is... It's called a 'carburetor.' You should fuel inject the brat and see how many of your problems go away!
