  1. haha oh wooooow... no idea what in the world I was thinking when I posted that. I know this thread is about rear lockers... DOH.
  2. So I thought bout it and correct me if I'm wrong, but I think I haVe the closest thing to a "locker" already done. I haVe this mod... Torquemada Lite It "locks" the "center diff" and keeps a torque split of 50/50.
  3. I haVe these springs (King) on my 99 Impreza OBS and loVe them!!! Well worth the money! I well tell you though I will be selling mine in the near future (sometime during winter) to buy a new set of King Lift Springs meant for the Forester struts. Mine are mated to ProdriVe Bilstein GC struts with saggy spacers, KYB tophats and Jackson Rally 1" strut spacers. The ride... the ride is stiff, maybe a smidge too stiff, but they do work wonders on the dirt, snow, graVel and such.
  4. I haVe a 99 Impreza OBS 4eat with the "on-damand 4 wheel drive mod" done. I do want a dual range trans in the Impreza though.
  5. So would it be less of a headache to just get the Audi one instead of the VW one or are they the exact same? Apparently, the Quantum Synchro rear diff is hard to come by up here in Michigan. I called around to two jobs and one said they hadn't seen one in 2 years and the other hasn't had the rear diff sonce 2001... buuuut the second shop is going to call around for me and see if they can find one... EDIT: BTW, this is great info... I'Ve been following it eVer since I looked into lockers, welded rear diffs, and LSD's. Figured of all people to haVe them or haVe a custom one would be this site... soooo thanx guys! This is great news!
  6. Understandable. By luck and location I got my Pushbar. I know of only 1 other one and it was in California (tried to pick it up as a spare). Nooooow it's somewhere in Alaska. Hum... there is a guy holding onto some 07 s or xt struts for me and judging by your 4" comment I'm super excited! I do haVe to ask what wheel spacers did you use and how big are they?
  7. You haVe the setup I am currently wanting. I'm lifted 1.5 inches at the moment, but want more... tons more. Plus the RX tranny swap... I loVe your wagon!!! He could always go with the OEM JDM GraVel Express Pushbar (also in the long process of trying to source the GraVel Express Sideskirts and rear tire mount) like me...
  8. By Lego you mean Leggy tires? I don''t really want to change out the struts to tell you the honest truth (not because of the effort, but because of how stiff they are). They're perfect for rallycross and daily driVing. I don't like the "boat" feeling...
  9. General Grabber AT2's... I want these tires! Only problem is I'Ve searched and I get a bunch of different answers... "yes they will"... "no they won't"... "yes they will." The thing I haVe noticed with all the threads is that the strut spring perch will get in the way. As the car sits right now... 99 Subaru Impreza OBS -Paranoid Fabrications 1/2 Saggy Butt Spacer (Rear) -Paranoid Fabrications 1/4 Spacer (Front) -1" Jackson Rally Lift Kit -King Lift Springs -ProdriVe WR Bilstein Struts -91-94 Turbo Legacy Wheels -Hankook iPikes 205/60/15 The lift is bout a 1.5-2" high. Is there any way to squeeze 205/75/15 General Grabber AT2's on the car? Or eVan a 225/70/15? Or is 215/65/16's going to be my best shot? OEM size for that year and model is a 205/60/15. Any idea guys? I'm thinking 16" wheels with a 48 offset and 205/65/16's, but I don't want to order them and then haVe them not fit. Any other suggestions? I'm looking for an aggressiVe off-road tread and could care less about how it rides and/or how loud it is. If it rubs on hard turn in so be it... I just want a little more ground clearance and a more aggresiVe look. Thanx Jonny
  10. Not sure if this will help you out Scott, but here is a 01 Forester with 2" strut spacers...
  11. Ok wow brain fart FTL... I forgot dirtyimpreza.com has almost all the info. Anyways, if you decide to do the Forester Suspension swap to lift your Subaru keep this in mind... And maybe this too... When I remember where else on dirtyimpreza I read eVerything I'll post more.
  12. Ya, let me look for the threads while doing research about it. I belieVe the info is on this site and rs25... just can't remember where. If I remember right the fronts bolt right in, but the rear tophats need to be modified because the bolts won't line up... if you want to go back to stock or a different setup some day you could always use the Forrester tophats and drill where the struts bolt into... I can't remember the name of that part of the car... but ya it's something like that. Plus I think there is something else, but I can't remember. Let me search around and I'll get back to you.
  13. You could always just turbo the ej18... there is a huge amount of info on the turbo builds of the ej18 on rs25.
  14. He will and can make a 2" lift. I just inquired about that. I was going to go with Jackson Rally's 1" lift, but then decided I wanted a little more lift and messaged him. He will do it though. BTW, I haVe a 99 OBS. If you go with Forrester suspension you will need to modify the rear... FYI
  15. The car is used as a daily driver with a hint of spirited mountain driving. The plan for the car is as follows: Swap in the EJ25 NA motor Do light modding including the suspension Swap in RX Tranny Add MiniMac CarPC Add Sound System I want to do something different including the tranny and I like your idea of dropping in a LSD and stuff like that. I'll be looking into it a little more I suppose.
