  1. Standing in the back of Rick's brat while 4-wheeling is almost up to Jeff's level of crazy-ness. But not quite.
  2. That would be fine, except I don't see anyone towing the thing down the dragon just to take it home.
  3. Yessssss, raffle! You should throw some calendars into the raffle this year.
  4. Awww, Noss wants my XT! 'Cause my XT is better than Jeff's! And it's cuter than KBD's! OK, maybe I'll ride along next time to see what's so great about it all. However, the only person I trust to drive me is KBD.
  5. Ever- does your noise sound like running water? My XT does that.... it's a coolant issue. Check to make sure you have enough coolant, then check all your hoses and make sure they're not cracked. Thanks, RexKwando. KBD said he'd buy me an intercooler, so that's what I'm waiting for. I'll get him to knock the timing back for me in the mean time, though. Uh, yeah.
  6. 91 octane is the highest I've seen in my area... and that's what I run. Most people I've spoken to seem to think it's pinging, so we're going to knock the timing back a bit and see what happens.
  7. It's hard to explain... It's kind of like a tick and a rattle together. I don't know. A tick-ish Rattle-y sound....
  8. I have an '86 XT Turbo running 9.5:1 compression, and I think about 8 pounds of boost. It is currently not intercooled. My engine makes an odd rattling noise on the drivers side when I accelerate. USUALLY, it only makes this sound when I accelerate quickly. At first I thought it was the shroud, because its only being held on by one bolt. But the rattle isn't metalic-y enough to be the shroud and the sound is coming from the wrong side of the engine. My brother thinks my engine is detinating, but it's been doing it almost since I got this car (August?) and if that were the case, I'm pretty sure my engine would be toast by now. Anyone have any ideas of what this could be? Is it just "old Subaru sound," or something more serious?
  9. I might go with KBD, just for the heck of it. (anyone know why Jeff doesn't use punctuation of any kind?) :-p
  10. They still live the closest. Sheesh, its like Christmas with my family.
  11. Darn straight, you're coming. The deal with the license plate? NABISCO (ha ha) has a license plate from Japan that they give to the person that drives the farthest. KBD has it right now. Xoomer- we're not sure when it will be. We go with NASIOC so we can crash their bbq's and activities (and steal their license plate). P.S. Jeff- Dude... English. I know you know it. :-p
  12. I like the grabber green diff..... Grabber green is so my color. I wanna go next time with my wagon-strutted XT. I bet we'll get some hilarious pics from that.
  13. I might bring Dorothy, but I have a list of stuff to do that I'm being very lazy about. Mostly because I don't know what in the world I'm doing and I need help doing it. I suppose someone can ride with me, but I'm not sharing a room with whomever it is! Dorothy almost made it to the Dragon last year, but she broke. Mostly because stuff got replaced in the engine, and she only had 25 miles of test driving before she headed out from Texas. Her former owner drove a rental car the rest of the way. On another note, BRING YOUR OWN FOOD to the Dragon. The resturants and general store are SUPER overpriced. Yeah, something almost always breaks. Or someone Rick's it up.
  14. Nothing in the overflow tank. Its bone dry. I'll have to take a look at the hoses, I guess.
  15. I guess I should've mentioned this before... I do not have a blown head gasket. The engine doesn't overheat, and everything checks out fine.
  16. I have an '86 XT Turbo that is drinking coolant like there's no tomorrow. It doesn't look like its leaking... any ideas on what it's doing and how it can be fixed?
  17. The cool stuff is far away from us, too. We came from Colorado last year! 1420miles one way. It was pretty darn fun. I am experienced on the dragon. I drove on the skyway which is a more tame version of the dragon. The rest of the time KBD drove. If you have a weak bladder, don't drive with him. :-p
  18. OK, so on XT6.net they are already talking about The Dragon 2006 meet. So I thought I'd bring it up here. The XT owners have the most fun, naturally. If you're wondering "What is this 'dragon?' How do I get one?" you've come to the right place. The dragon is an 11 mile stretch of road with 318 curves. Curve after curve after curve.... you get the idea. Now Huck and KBD like to take this stretch of road at about 80mph. I don't recommend it. I will be taking the dragon at a nice pace of about 40-50mph, which is what most passengers prefer. The dragon resides in Western North Carolina. There's not really anything around, so we stay at a place called "Fontana Village." I don't recommend getting a cabin. Get a room. They have TV's and soft beds. The road leading to the dragon is curvy, and Fontana Village takes forever to get to.... but its worth it. It is so beautiful up there! When we start getting some dates, you should consider coming! Or, you can hop over to www.xt6.net. Lets show NABISCO (ha ha) that they aren't the only ones that can take on the dragon!
  19. You're forgeting my wagon-strutted XT. Let's take that, too.
  20. I'm pretty sure we can do some 4 wheeling at the park. I don't see any reason why we can't, unless there is nowhere to do it. We're bringing enough meat for 18 people, so hopefully there will be enough since we don't have a very good head-count.
  21. Maybe I'll get mom to make some tater salad. ha ha. The meet is still @ Bear Creek Lake park @ 10am on Sat. October 15. Just a reminder, it is about $4 to get into the park. Like I said, I'll bring soda. I may bring some cookies if I feel like making/buying some.
  22. Bring whatever car you want. This is a meet for Subaru geeks, not just Subaru owners. Of course I'll be there, and I will bring the soda. KBD- meat Noss- buns The cute one- soda. I think DrKrazy is bringing chips and dip?
  23. I have an intake, I just need to put it on one of these years. I prefer pull n' smell over western.
