  1. Reminder: Spokane ASNW's first 2006-7 winter snowcross is ON for this weekend, both SAT & SUN, Dec. 9 & 10. 2006. Locals report ~3" of snow over durable ice on the ground this morning with more snow forecasted Sat nite & Sun. Main highways are well maintained. Charlie & I had a ball last year in his red automatic. Try the ASNW forum or Erik (roundthebend) on nasioc or Wes at ASNW for more info (I'll be offline) ..... ..... .... (since we pay rent for this venue differently) $20 for members and $30 for non-members. FORMAT Entry will be limited to 30-40 drivers per day due to the rapid deterioration of the snow with 120+ runs going on. I will try to set up the course to allow for the most fresh snow on both days. Hopefully this will help battle the deterioration issue. It would be nice if it just snowed and froze all winter. Run times will be calculated by dropping worst run and adding the other three together for a total time. CLASSING Here is the final decision on classing for RallyX 2006. There will be 3 general classes, based on where you think your RallyX skill is using the following guidelines. Novice - Brand new to the sport, 1st season only Amateur - Not your first season of RallyX, no additional training Professional - Rally school, Have professionaly rallyed as a driver Each class will then be split into 2wd or 4wd So the classes are as follows... Novice - N2 & N4 Amateur - A2 & A4 Professional - P2 & P4 TIMES 0800 Gate opens 0800 Tech and Registration open 0830 GATE CLOSED (if you miss the window you dont get in!!) 0920 Tech and Registration CLOSED 0910 Drivers meeting 0930 First car out!!!! We will not be running the dirt track this year since it needs too much $$$ and time to build and maintain. All events will be run on the "snow covered" runways this season. If it happens not to snow for a planned event we will bump that event to the next weekend. The decision to cancel will be posted to the RallyX post for that event by the WED prior to the event. 2. great pics!...... where's the one of you CLEARING the ice bog? -bill
  3. more info about the emergency cancellation, etc. at: http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?p=15601159#post15601159 bill
  4. Zap - how were you gonna pull 14-16" of mud with 10" of clearance? :-\ Now, 6-8" deep I'd join you! Bill
  5. I don't see any reason for slaloms to be shrinking like they have over the last couple of years. They should be far enough between cones to allow drivers with standard wheelbases to use their pendulum techniques -requiring more speed when the traction is good. Bill
  6. congrats, guys, looks like some good times - but why all the "gates?" SEVEN gate penalties on the top OA drivers - what's that about? how was the course layout? 5 runs - maybe we should start restricting entries so we get 5 everytime. bill
  7. Here's Ananda's post on NASIOC: June 24th, near the famous Brooklyn Tavern, the Pacific Rally Group will be hosting the first Rallycross for 2006! (FYI, the Rallycross was scheduled for the ORV Park in Grays County, but due to a conflict of dates, the event was moved to Brooklynn. Same date, different place.) SCCA-NWR members $25 Non-members $30 Junior Rally Group members $15 Spectators $10 per car load (this fee is charged by the Park, not PRG) For more information contact Kim Craddock at nwrallymom@yahoo.com or at hm: 360-273-7310 or cl: 360-508-9072. A couple notes: You can qualify for the membership price level if you want to join the Pacific Rally Group for $20. PRG is the Rally organiztion in the northwest that is putting on all the stage rallyes and rallycrosses. It is an annual membership that provides secondary insurance at all motorsport events, a region newsletter, and discount entrance fees. PRG will be hosting more rallycrosses this year and will likely be promoting a 6 event championship series. So the membership will definitely pay for itself. The Junior Rally Group is a new program for NWR SCCA promoting those interested in motorsports and safe driving. You have to be in the age range of 15-20, and when you turn 21 you could get a SCCA competition license, which allows you to race in SCCA events. Joining JRG will cost $10 for an annual membership and you will get a T-shirt and reduced entry fees to rallycrosses and maybe autocrosses (this is being discussed at the autocross meetings). The Rallycross will be held at the City of Brooklyn. Driving directions are: The quickest route to Brooklyn from Puget Sound is to take exit 104 from I-5, stay on the 4-lane freeway to McCleary, take the Mox-Chehalis road to Malone at Highway 12, go Left to Porter on Hwy 12, Right at Porter over RXR tracks and bridge, Left at next intersection toward Oakville, follow several miles then turn Right toward Brooklyn on the Garrard Cr. Rd, follow this keeping to the Right two times where needed, then 7 miles of Gravel (the Brooklyn Stage), then follow to the Tavern. The farm will be about 1/4 mi before the Tav. From NB I-5 from Chehalis and points South, take the Hwy 12 Westbound exit toward Aberdeen (I think it's Exit 88B), follow to Oakville, turn Left at State St, follow out of town a ways, then Turn Left at the Garrard Creek Rd toward Brooklyn just after a long bridge. Then follow the directions in the above paragraph.
