Are EA71 and EA81 fully interchangeable in late 70s cars?
Just wanted to confirm that an EA81 can be dropped into a late 70s Subaru (stage 2). Ie, that the physical size, transmission (or housing), and mounts are compatible (in terms of mounting the motor) between EA71 and EA81.

Are EA71 and EA81 camshafts interchangeable
Are they different in terms of how they fit, or in terms of their specs. What I mean is will one physically fit in the other.

Are EA71 and EA81 camshafts interchangeable
Just what the title says - can you interchange the EA71 and EA81 camshafts? Presumably, if you compare the specs (lift, duration, etc), they would be different. The reason I ask is because I wonder if, for example, a EA71 camshaft would give better performance to an EA81 and vice versa.

HiPo EA81 build questions....domed pistons?
Dont want to sound like an idiot, but can someone please enlighten me why 1600 pistons are good. Do they give more compression or something?

Rear wheel bearings change question
Hi all I am going to change rear wheel bearings a 2WD Loyale. Bearings are unsealed and hence require to be greased up first. My question is whether the original packing grease (it is VERY light - almost oil like) needs to be removed before bearing grease is applied? If yes, what is the best way? Thanks

1977 sedan - water on the floor
Hey guys, my 1977 sedan seems to end up with water on the floor after any sort of rain. I now have a new trunk seal, so it cant be that. Where else could it be leaking, besides door seals? Thanks

Loyale Taillight/Dome light fuse keeps blowing - why
The fuse that looks after the taillights and the interior lights in my L-series (Loyale in US) keeps blowing. The fuse seat sparks up every time I try to put a fresh fuse in. What do you think is the reason for this? Thanks

Cooling problem with Carburetted Loyale
it only overheats when it runs out of coolant (which gets pushed out of the overflow bottle)

Cooling problem with Carburetted Loyale
Actually its a Leone (Australian name) Here is the deal. A few months back my cooling fluid has started to collect in the expansion bottle, overflowing it after some driving, even with the cap on. After checking for coolant leaks, and finding none, I am scratching my head. It seems that AIR is somehow getting into the cooling system, thus displacing the fluid into the expansion bottle. The system is under pressure OK, as when I open it hot, fluid shoots out, and when I open it cold air gets sucked in/out. Fluid is definitely running out through the expansion bottle (I think), as I have to keep topping it up. Here is the clincher: this seems to happen mostly after prolonged driving at over 80 km/h (I think). The water burbles in the expansion tank when I turn the engine off. Dont know whether this is air or coolant. Also, I dont think its the head gasket as there is no coolant in the oil and no oil in the coolant. Sorry about the long post, but I am getting desparate. Help?
