  1. My vote is for the Legacy. I had a '95 LS wagon that we had to get rid of (family didn't fit anymore!). The AWD was great for dirt roads, snow, and even light off-roading (trails). The LS had all the stuff we wanted, power everything, cruise, air, sunroof, roof rack. The 2.2L seemed to have plenty of power too. We didn't have to do any major maintainence, but we did have the timing belts replaced at 65K as preventive maint. Otherwise it was just regular oil changes, and tune-ups.
  2. I am out in Kodiak. I traded my Legacy for a mini-van, but I am looking to get an older Subie. Probably either an XT or SVX (if I can find one).
  3. I don't suppose you have their number handy do you? I don't have a copy of the Anchorage phone book handy!
  4. I originally found this car at http://bidalaska.com/item.asp?intItemID=1875 Then when you mentioned e-bay I went there and found the same car at http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2441920338&category=31871 The one at BidAlaska says it's in Juneau AK, the one on eBay says it's in Alsip IL. It's stuff like that the really gets to me! :madder: :madder: I'm glad I didn't get too involved in this thing! Guess I'll just keep looking. :brolleye:
  5. I have the Nissan pickup for hauling animal carcasses around! :-) Yeah, I know it FWD, but SVX's are hard to come buy in AK. This one is down in Juneau, but would be easier to ship than from down in the "lower 48".
  6. I am looking at a 94 SVX L with 99K miles on it. It looks to be in pretty good shape. I know about the usual transmission problems and wheel bearings as well as the potential problems with brake rotors warping. Is there anything else I should be looking at while I am at it? What would a fair price be for this car in good shape? There is no rust or dents. See attached picture, and let me know what you think. Thanks.
  7. Can you check the following for me: JF1CX3237RK101027 My e-mail is: graymouser@gci.net Thanks!
  8. I forgot to mention that I got the projector fog lamp kit on eBay, but it was the complete install kit. It included the switch, wiring harness and lamp assemblies. The part number for the entire kit is H4510AC010. The instructions don't list a separate part number for the switch. They made a huge difference in driving at night. Made it a lot easier to see the nighttime wildlife up here in Alaska. Especially when there are no streetlights!!
  9. I had a '95 Legacy LS wagon I put in factory projector fogs into. I still have the instructions electronically if you would like me to send them to you. (scans from the originals) It wasn't too difficult, just followed the instructions.
  10. Why can't I find something like that up here in Alaska???
  11. Well, when you get ready to sell the wagon(s), either PM me or post on the board and we can try to work something out. There is always the Alaska Marine Highway to transport subies over the water!
  12. I also live in Alaska, out in Kodiak. We traded our '95 Legacy wagon in on a minivan since the family has outgrown it. I am now subie-less. :boohoo: I am (sort of) in the market for either an EA81 brat/wagon/hatch, or an XT. Unfortunately sube's on Kodiak are kinda rare on the market. They are either completely rusted out, or are newer legacy/forester/impreza models. Just thought I would let you guys know that you are not the only people in Alaska on the board! I don't post much, but read the board several times a day! Brian 03 Kia Sedona (95 Legacy wagon replacement) 86.5 Nissan 4x4 King Cab 85 Honda Goldwing Interstate
