Anybody use any kind of "sealant" products when installing main seals? One of the permatex silicones perhaps? I've come across this in a couple posts and am just wondering if it is in widespread use. It was being used in small amouts on the outside edge of the seal to glue it to the block. I'm installing new non oem seals. Thanks.

Yes actaully - Qman showed me that this was acceptable for main seals. A little silicone around the outer edge, and some grease around the inner edge to make it seal good, and keep it from drying out.
