December 19, 200916 yr ok so i bought a 1987 GL sedan and the heater is not working on any speed, i think the switch works because it turns the light on the vent selector on and of between 0 and 1 the motor turns if i give it power, is there any resistor packs outside the switch it self ?
December 19, 200916 yr that´s the thing, maybe it´s my english knowledge but i don´t find anything when i try to search for this oskar_subaru
December 20, 200916 yr For info on the resistor pack: EA82 Blower Resistor Pack Info http://www.indysworld.com/80s/general/USRM/mick-usrm/resistor-pack/resistorpack.html The blower should have 12v+ from fuse 1, 2, 12 and the switch should control the grounding to the motor (through the resistors to control speed) Hope this helps
December 21, 200916 yr I had same problem, ended up just being blower motor resistor located right by the blower motor. I always thought it was a progressive failure, losing high, then next highest etc...etc... mine just flat quit working.
December 22, 200916 yr If it doesn't work on ANY speed it's probably the motor. Turn the car on, put the selector to max (I think it is "4" or something) and check for 12vdc at the blower (it's to the left pax side).

December 23, 200916 yr Author or possiably the relay itself you get the dancing banana tried switching one of the headlight relays for the heater one and surely enough the motor started blowing like a champ (was hoping it wasn't the motor, the car is only driven 102.000 km (60.000 miles)) thanks all though for great response, this forum never seizes to amaze sorry about my spelling
