EA82 Platform is the XT built on the same platform (bottom of car)as the other EA82s

Featured Replies

is the XT the same underneath as far as the body goes? whats the differences, car you interchang any body parts like the front fenders and hood? what interchanges between the XT and ther EA82s? thanks Scott AE82 car

Everything is hte same as far as running gear, suspension, drivetrain.......so a standard EA82 lift will work.

Body panels are all different.

Scott I dont think the hoods are the same they have a different style PS pump resevoir, and I think that all the XT's have MPFI, the wiring is wacked out in them, the ECU is in the trunk buy the speakers in the rear. As for Axles, trans, and rear diff they are mostly the same there but I think that the pan and everything around you in the drivers seat is pretty different........ Front seats will swap too. I'll bring one by some time if you really want to look one over good.

What they said. All the suspension and "platform" is the same. Not sure where the "change" takes place but the windshield, doors, and glass are all different. Or...at least I thought the windshield was different, maybe not?

The XT6 has some suspension differences - basically the rear is still EA and the front is EJ style.

The later model XT's differ slightly from the older ones. But don't think that matters to you.
