Anybody know what size the EGR pipe threads are?

Featured Replies

As the title says, I'm wondering what size that thread is for the pipe on the egr that goes into the head and the intake. Is it a pipe or straight metric? Anyone know the size?

if i had to guess, it woud be 17 or 18mm with a 1.0 thread. just a guess, though, its probably the same as an oxygen sensor bung

the EGR tap is a 16x1.5. If the engine doesn't have the EGR hole threaded you use a 9/16 drill bit to get the whole to the right size and a 9/32 is the hole size into the combustion chamber.

thank you very much:)

i saw you posted asking if anone had done this before... I've done it several times. Be gentle when you are drilling through into the combustion chamber, go slow. Use wd-40 when drilling and tapping helps it go smooth. Any other question feel free to ask..
