Sudden gas mileage drop

Featured Replies

Gas mileage dropped about 2 miles per gallon after having ATF changed on 2008 Outback 2.5i. Any idea why?

Subaru requires at 30,000. 41,000 at this time. Been trying to figure this out for a while.

Did you use the proper fluid?

How did you determine the MPG number?

May just be a coincidence as 2mpg is hard to say is anything big. A slight change in driving habits can do 2-5 mpg difference.

Check tire pressures.

Had to start filling up about 35 miles sooner per tank was first clue. I also keep mileage records and use the dash readout.

They ordered Subaru ATF.
