Move rear axle back?

Featured Replies

How hard would it be to move the rear suspension on an 84 wagon back an inch or two for better clearance for tires?Even with a lift for the rear the limiting factor on tire size is the close proximity to the rear door.So I'm wondering how hard would it be to move the whole assembly back a bit.

That or just push tires back a bit.

thanks in advance

Climb under your car and look..................... if you move the diff and whole show back, you'll have to have a new Driveline made, I have no Idea how you would make the trailing arm longer, Just look and see what you come up with.

Honestly.

Just make a 4" lift kit and you wont have any rubbing. Its not hard.

I don't have rubbing now,But im putting 31X10.50X15's on it.With the EA82 front suspension I have plenty of room to put them on the front, but the back is going to take some work.

Then lift the rear enough so it doesn't rub. Then when you lift the rear only, the car will be raked forwards, so then you will have to lift the front. then you will have a 4" lift, and a better looking and performing Subaru.
