Well, a month ago, I picked up a 84 Brat gl that I got for a good price and is what I want. I got a call on sunday from a guy who wanted to sell me a 79 Brat thats straight, runs, has a new clutch, comes with a hightop shell, and a a-bar, and has the jump seats in the back. There is no rust, and the body is straight except for a couple tiny dings. I paid $460. Good Deal? I mainly got this to clean up and sell...what kind of money do you think I can get for a 79 brat thats straight and rust free, and comes with seats, canopy, and a-bar(are those interchangeable between gen 1 and gen2?). sounds like you got a really good deal, one you would want to hold on to for yourself, those gen 1's are getting rare and with a topper and jump seats thats a good score.

Tell you what - If you drive it here, I'll give you a grand for it and a plane ticket home.

There's a lady right down the street from me that also has a 79 Brat with a few dings old paint (white) and a stock pushbar and she wants 2k for it!?!?!?!
