hello everyone! i have an 86 BRAT and when i turn the wipers on they work fine but they always stop in the full up position instead of the full down position. it even happens when i press the knob inward to spray the windshield and they kick on and turn off automatically. what could possibly be the problem?:-\

Most likely,the cam operated park switch inside the wiper motor is gone.

 

Small chance it could be bad contacts in the main control switch too(part of it needs to conduct current in the "off" position).

i just looked and autozone wants like 70 bucks for one. ill have to wait to get it but ill let y'all know how it goes:grin:

loosen up the nut that hold ths passenger arm in place. Then manually pull the driver side down into bottom park. Then tighten up the nut on the passenger arm....again, with it in park spot.

If that is not correct, try again until you get it to stop in the right spot.
