I just pulled the tranny regulator off my '87 GL10 3AT to find that the gear at the end of the shaft is "apple cored" beyond recognition. (It got too dark to check the internal gear so I don't know if it's similarly worn yet or not.) I noticed that the shaft gear is removable-- does anyone know if Subaru still carries this part? Does anyone have a good one they want to sell? It's the metal one, not the plastic.

you'll want to check the inside first but they should still sell them last i seen they were $30-35 for a new one i can get you coulpe if you'd like $25 shipped

The ones that I have seen that are like this (especially the metal ones...) the gear in the diff is the real cause of the problem...... you'll just chew up another gear if that is the case.... time for another tranny.
