1993 Purge Control Resistance

Featured Replies

If this has been addressed before, please direct me, but could anyone provide a purge control solenoid ohm value for a 1993 Legacy? I want to temp replace my defective one with a resistor to get rid of my error code. Thank you

Thank you 4 the link; yes code 35, all ready checked resistance through purge control solenoid and it is shot. Not sure about the resistor idea either, but thank you for the link; found the ohm value (36 at 68F).

Just as a follow up in case its of interest to anyone, yes the above did work.

I didn't want to reply and tell you the resistance value that I know work for the EA82's in case the EJ one's were different - I was 99% sure they were the same but I figured someone would tell you for certain. Nice to know they are the same as the one's I've used for the SPFI stuff.

That's cool! Thank you. I will probably post another question on 19913 Legacy A Transmissions, but while Im here, does anyone know of existing threads? Specifically, I believe there is a sticky valve in the valve body and want to ping others experience in this area. I can be more specific, but am in the wrong thread and dont want to get too wordy. Cheers

By all means start a new thread to ask transmission questions. But in the meantime you can start doing some basic research--use the search function to unlock a treasure of past experience and help. :)

Good luck.

Try a simple flush - drain and refill the tranny twice - driving 10 miles in between. This assures that you get the fluid out of the TC. You will need about 3 gallons of ATF. Cheap stuff is fine for ATF.

Yeah - a good idea for sure. But it's his thread so he *could* go edit the title to include transmission Q's.

I'm going to start one more thread ever on this board and every time I need new info I'm gonna drag it up and edit the title so all the info I ever get will be in one place.

Unfortunately - once they reach a certain age you can't edit them anymore :)
