just got done with dad's blown HG in the saved Forester.

 

Next up, my brothers 99 outback.

just ordered all the parts for it so will be doing another HG job in a few weeks.

 

i really wish subaru made the old ej22 in the current lineup.

 

anyhow, my brother is going to try and get another builder, and the one he is looking at has a smashed front again into the t-belt, its a Baja, not sure the year.

Were you able to get her patched up?

yeah the 99 Outback has just gotten finished........new Headgaskets, cam seals, water pump, t belt, valve cover gaskets, etc etc etc, new idler bearings, ready to go another 150k. All parts from Subaru online, except the idlers came from import experts. This car had about 150k on it, and it was just beginning to show bubbles at that mileage......and needed to replenish coolant into radiator from the overflow. The idler bearings were about shot at this mileage. Ths car should make it to 300k now....with general maintenance as needed.

Wow that's great and it sounds like a job done properly. She should be ready to run for a good long time now. Does she have the AT or MT?

AT. yeah done right everything torqued to spec using latest procedure.

It's too bad about the whole headgasket debacle, because really, aside from that on the 2.5's from that era, the rest of the vehilces were pretty solid. It's like seeing a really beautiful woman but then she has this big goiter on here neck.

What is a goiter?

It's a big lump that forms on a person's neck. I think it's if they have some sort of thyroid problem and it gets really huge. If you were a Seinfeld fan, that's what that old lady had when Elaine was visiting elderly people in that one episode.
