HELP!! Check engine lite on

Featured Replies

I just bought a 2006 Forester with 140,000 miles on it. The check engine lite is on, and secondly the cruise control doesn't work. Any ideas??

you can go to most any auto parts store, and they will tell you why the engine light is on, free of charge.:)

The cruise could be any number of things, and I couldn't even begin to give you a good answer

Yes - have the CEL checked by any auto-parts store and tell us what code it reported.

The cruise could be a lot of things and it could even be related to the CEL.

CEL is the reason the Cruise won't engage. As everyone else has said go to a parts store and get the code read. Have them write the code down (PXXXX) and come back here with the number so we can help. It may be a simple as the gas cap wasn't on tight enough.
