loyale problems

Featured Replies

i took out the motor in my 91 loyale to replace head gaskets. when we got everything put back together, it ran for a few minutes, then started cutting out.

checked the timing, spark, distributor, gas lines, air.

pretty much everything. no clue where to look next....

it will start and idle (rough), but once you give it a little gas the car will die right away.

any ideas?

did you rotate the motor 360 degrees before putting on the second timing belt??? even if you did its easy to mis-align these things

It sounds to me like a Vacuum Leak... I Kindly Suggest to Check for Vacuum Leaks...

Good Luck.

not exactly sure what the problem was. now it starts up and runs. but with a very high idle. usally around 2,000. i tried to adjust the distriubator and the idle sensior. neither will lower or raiser the idle. i took off the rotor and replaced it with another. and same with the idle sensior. but still nothing. vacuum leak was my guess too. replaced all hoses and the spfi boot.

thanks for all the help guys.
