November 30, 201015 yr I came across a keyless entry for what I can only assume is a '98 (or so) Legacy today... I have a '95. Will it work?
November 30, 201015 yr it should. the 95 - 96 didn't have a separate door lock switch, but that is the only difference. you 'll just need to find the correct install instructions.
December 1, 201015 yr Author Here is the item... like I said, I only think it's from a 98, and I want this to go into a 95. It would be so awesome if this worked.
December 2, 201015 yr You need to ensur your doors have the electronic locks. If not, you will need to install the aftermarket actuator.
December 2, 201015 yr Author You need to ensur your doors have the electronic locks. If not, you will need to install the aftermarket actuator. My car has central locks. I flip the switch on the driver's side and they all react, etc. I'm just wondering where this thing would even go. I know it's under the dash in the driver's side foot well, but will there just be a cable hanging out there? Do I have to pull it from something else? And now that you mentioned ensuring my car has the electronic locks- did some of the '95 Legacy's not have electronic locks? I have another 95, but it's a Legacy L and the locks don't react to the driver's switch.
December 4, 201015 yr The wire is all behind the kick panel and the unit itself goes up under the dash. held in with zip strips. I have a used unit and the wiring, so you would just have to get the remote. You can order them off Ebay for about $15. Yes, not all Legacy's came with the electronic locks. If all your doors are opening and closing off the switch, you should be OK. $50 shipped.
December 4, 201015 yr Hmm how much is the keyless entryI never knew which fit my model.. I have a 95 as well with power door locks.. so anything in the 95-99 range works?
