Featured Replies

I HAVE A 92 LOYALE PUSH BUTTON 4WD. I ORDERED THE EA TO EJ ADAPTER KIT FROM SJR LIFT. BUT NOW IM HAVING TROUBLE FINDING A NON OEM REPLACEMENT CLUTCH FOR MY SWAP. JUST CURIOUS IF ANYBODY HAD ANY SUGGESTIONS ON SOMETHING THAT WILL HOLD UP OR EXAMPLES OF CLUTCHES THEY MIGHT HAVE USED IN A LOYALE SWAP IN THE PAST. ANY HELP IS APPRECIATED. THANX

i have also heard that the xt6 is the best clutch you can get fro the S/R pb 4WD.NOT SURE IF ITS TRUE THO.http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/images/smilies/banghead.gif

Any year XT6 clutch kit is fine. What you really need out of it is the greater clamping force with the pressure plate. The clutch disc is the same as any other EA82 I believe.

BEST option if you are keeping the S/R Loyale trans, would be to stuff the shafts and tailsection into an EJ trans case (EASY) . Then you can bolt the engine and trans directly toghether, no adapter plate. Then you are free to use an EJ flywheel and clutch.

I recently did this in my S/R GL w/ EJ22 (ditched the EA clutch and adapter plate) The clutch action is much better.

But that said, an XT6 or even just a good 4WD EA82 clutch will work fine.
