I found a 96 outback that doesn't run. I am waiting to see if it is still avail and what engine it has in it. If it's worth getting what else is compatible with my 98 outback legacy?

just so you know.....

 

there are a few, very few minor differences, like headlights, 2 piece vs. one piece, but most everything will swap. all the mechanical.

The headlights switch in either direction. You just have to change the connectors.
