but it does not flash win running & lights on

so just your hazards and no other lights are flashing..?

don't take offense but did you check to make sure your hazard switch isn't on ?

iirc, there was someone awhile back that had that happen to them, they didn't know they hit it (or that it was there..)

hahaha but i found out that if i have the key in the run then connect the batt the Subaru alarm will reset and not flash the lights:Flame: ps my 87 rx has more balls then my 98 lgt25 :headbang: but not for long I'm going to have lots of fun with this car :burnout:

Around that time there were two implementations of the subaru alarm system. (at least from what's sitting in my driveway).

One, when the alarm is going off the horn honks like crazy. With this type turn the key on and off 5 times. So from off to run and back off.

Two, it has a really obnoxious siren under the hood that makes a terrible noise every time you lock, unlock, etc. That's what my 98LGT has. It probably has it's wire cut like I did mine.

With this type push the red flashy button on the dash and turn the key to on. Hold it for a second, should disarm the system. Sometimes it works for mine.... sometimes not.

Since you don't have the remote, I suggest just completely disabling the alarm system all together.

Yours sounds just like my 1998 Forester.

Turn the key to On (not Start), and find the little brown button UNDER the dash near hood release. It may be mounted or just hanging loose or even tooked up in the harness. Hold it in after turning the key to On and the lights go off....If you hold it long enought the door locks will cycle which is when you'd synch your remotes - if you had them.
