March 13, 201115 yr Scroll over the icons in the heading above where you would type a post or reply. There is a way of adding attachments (paperclip icon) and attaching images (square icon with a landscape of a mountain etc). It will tell you what size and type of files are compatible. You can upload images to USMB and link to them directly.
March 13, 201115 yr Author OK, did that...but it asks for the URL. The pics I need to insert are files on my computer. So, I am still stumped.
March 13, 201115 yr Click on down arrow next to the paperclip icon. Click on Browse and find the picture file on your computer you want to upload. It will tell you file dimension, type and size that will work. Once uploaded click on paperclip again and you will see your file. Place the cursor where you want the picture. Click on file and you are done. Click Preview Post to see the picture as it will appear. I just inserted the following pix following the above steps. Edited March 13, 201115 yr by brus brother
March 13, 201115 yr Author OK, that's the problem....I am not seeing a paper clip (attachment) link. Just uploaded an avatar but that was a completely different screen.
March 13, 201115 yr I'm following along with curiosity and don't see a paperclip either. Perhaps it's because I'm looking at "New Posts" rather than a specific forum? I have uploaded pics to USMB then linked to them in posts before. But htat was a while ago.

I think as a new member you must have a minimum number of posts in the tech forum only to earn photo rights. 10 or 20 posts, it's written in stone somewhere but I can't seem to locate it today. I know when I reached my quota it was like USMB graduation day. Good luck
