my module is bad and i need to get one. does anyone know what years will interchange? it allows you to take the car out of park when you press the brake pedal. mine is a 90 legacy. here is a pic of the box

Pretty sure I have one from a 93 Legacy if that helps. I'll check on Monday unless someone has one quicker.

i'm going to try to get one at the junk yard tomorrow. thats why i needed to know what years are the same. but if i don't find one i'll let you know

Common problem. I just zip tie the shift lock linkage back so it never engages. Problem solved.

i never thought of that. if i don't find one at the right price today i'll just do that.

mine started acting up a few weeks ago and i put a rubber band on it. yhis week when the rubber band broke it was working again.

 

so i left the shift ''surround'' off so the release button was accessable. next time it acts up i'll use a zip tie. never thought of that.

ok i put a zip tie on it and it's working fine. i might grab the module if i ever run across one but i'm not really worried about it.
