GLwagonlove Posted April 5, 2011 Share Posted April 5, 2011 So I am leaking coolant out of my water pump. I think the bearings are going bad. It leaks about a 5 by 5 spot about every time I park it now, and it seems to be getting a little worse every week. It is not making any bad sounds, or anything, yet... I store my car (85 GL Wagon 4wd) during the months of May, June, July, and August because I drive my Jeep during the summer. So can this wait until next Sept? I drive it everyday from Foco to Loveland for work (about 20-25 minutes each way) at highway speed. So I got about a month until I park it... is this a big deal, or can I wait? tractor pole Posted April 5, 2011 Share Posted April 5, 2011 In my experience waiting only makes it worse, fixing it is easier than getting stranded and paying for a tow and potentially missing work. BRP tourer Posted April 6, 2011 Share Posted April 6, 2011 Over the years working as a mechanic I have seen many water pumps leak a little for a while, then suddenly puke everything out without warning.
