85wagon Posted April 21, 2011 Share Posted April 21, 2011 ive looked and looked, im going for a simple answer, what redline gear oil should i use in my LSD rear diff? and what redline gear oil should i put in my manual transmission? i drive an 85 wagon. ive looked around and cant find a strait answer... i know its probably been asked a hundred times so here is one hundred and one... GeneralDisorder Posted April 22, 2011 Share Posted April 22, 2011 You use NON "NS" 75w90 for a rear LSD. The NS means it does not have the clutch type LSD additve. You could add it of course but that would be silly. That's why the NS works so well in the Subaru transmissions - it doesn't have the LSD additive that is detrimental to our syncro operation.
