May 2, 201114 yr Have you priced one? Dealer only from what I remember? If the tank is that rusty then the rear brake lines are not far behind....are both of your wheelwells rusted out? If its this rusty then most of the bolts on the car are frozen so when you go to do routine things you are going to have a lot of time in freeing up , drilling out and rethreading bolts etc.... They use a lot of salt here in ohio and I have sent several cars to the crusher with parts on them that I couldn't get off due to the rust.....all had leaky tanks.

I looked online and the tank is around $360 or so which is not bad.. I thought you meant more like $500 + having said that no my wheelwells are not rusted out
May 6, 201114 yr Author crap I was getting gas this morning and it's leaking where that rust spot is in the picture.. Now I'm thinking about buying the fuel pipe today hopefully it's in stock which I doubt. I was shocked my radiator cap was in stock today...
May 6, 201114 yr Author database error must of never posted the one where I put the picture up. gas leaks (more like pours) right where the cover is..
May 12, 201114 yr Author How does one get to the tank cover on the outback? On my 95 it was easy because the carpet just folded back, I'm going to guess it's under those pieces with the ring hooks? but I can't figure out how to pull them up without the risk of breaking something
