June 29, 201114 yr Hey Guys, Got a person at work that has a super clean 1990 Legacy wagon (85000 miles, 2.2l 16 valve, automatic ) that has thrown a check engine light. I did a search on the forum and found the codes and how-to. The problem is that I could not find the green connections under the column to connect. Did I look in the wrong place? If so, what to I have to do? The car runs fine, just idles a little rough. Thanks! Dean
June 29, 201114 yr the connectors are closer to the door than the steering column there is a pair of green and a pair of black next to each other. just did my 90 the other day
June 29, 201114 yr Author Thanks. I will check it out tomorrow. How many pins are on the connectors? This car is soo clean that there was not one spec of dust on any of the under parts of the dash. You could of eaten off of it. The interior is cherry and the only dent is from where it got hit in the tailgate a few weeks ago from an uninsured driver. I told the owner that if they decide to sell it, I want first call. She just laughed. Apparently her father had owned it since new and kept it garaged. Now her son who is in basic is driving it.

It's possible, if they were never used before, that the connectors are still taped to the wiring harness under there. (Someone correct me if I'm wrong about that!) Car sounds great--hope it works out for you.
June 30, 201114 yr it is very possible that they are still taped up - if thye are it will take a little poking around to find them. 1 pair of single wire green connectors, and 1 pair of single wire black connectors are what you are looking for. on mine they were slighter closer to the door frame than the steering column - and way forward - as in stand on your head under the steering column , facing front and look towards the back window! Since he is away at basic training for the Army, his mom is driving it occasionally. The person I am helping is a coworker that does not have much mechanical knowledge so I help out when I can. Im the resident mechanic in the group I work for....
