July 28, 201114 yr I want to install a pair of electric oil gauges in ye olde brat. I know the dummy-light sender is right beside the oil pump, and I could put the temp sender there, but there would definitely be no clearance for a pressure sender. Are there any other good spots on the block to plug in an oil pressure sender?
July 28, 201114 yr you will need to remove the old sender and use that location. If you have an idiot light in that spot I think there is something else you must do also but for the life of me I cannot remember what it was if there was anyway.
July 28, 201114 yr Author Right, but there's no way a real pressure sender will fit that close to the engine block.
July 28, 201114 yr Right, but there's no way a real pressure sender will fit that close to the engine block. Plumb it, thats why they make fittings, adaters and tubing. When I had one of these that is what I did.
July 28, 201114 yr sure there is.. All mine look just like this except for the one with a bad oes sender. This is taken from under the bumper looking up.
October 29, 201114 yr Author Thanks for the advice, guys. A typical oil pressure sender won't fit into the old idiot light hole directly, as it's too close to the block. The bottom hole in the oil pump you pointed out is rusted pretty tight on mine, and I don't want to risk using a gas wrench that close to the pump. So here's my plummed solution to fit both oil pressure and temperature senders (I did have to tap the holes out to 1/8"x27 NPT)
