cookie1
I dont think i have ever seen or heard the aux/elect. fan run. Looking for ways to test it and find out why I have never seen it on. Asuming I can run 12v to it, just to see if the motor is even any good. Thanks for your help
man on the moon
On my Loyale, and I think most, the stock default is for it to turn on at a certain engine temperature. For whatever reason mine didn't turn on until I was approaching the red (that's how I knew when I was too close to overheating, it would squeal at me). As for testing it, there is a coupler thingy a few inches from the fan body that plugs the fan into the wiring harness. Unplug this and run a pair of wires from the battery to the fan. Touch one wire to each pole in the thingy, doesn't matter which (the fan direction will reverse depending which way you wire it). I've wired mine to a switch inside the cabin so I can turn it on whenever I want/need as it was waiting too long the way it was set up when I bought the car. GeneralDisorder
The fan you are refering to as the "aux" fan (the electric one) is actually the primary fan and is controlled via a thermoswitch in the radiator tank. Verify power to the fan and proper grounding through the switch (at operating temp which is about 195*). GD
