Should be. As far as I know if you just match up the color of the tops (red, grey, black,etc) with the ones you have then they are the same.

i read somewhere a while back, that the ECU in an outback ''injected'' more fuel than the ECU in an ''L''.

 

any truth to this?

 

the reason i ask, since i have an ej22 in a 98 outback, if i could replace the ECU and reduce the fuel injected, would this improve my fuel economy?

The ECU will correct based on the O2 sensor so I would not worrry about it.
