I plan on just taking a coil out at a time to achieve the ride height that im looking for up front but the rear seems a different story. any suggestions would be great. roostema4328 Posted October 26, 2011 Share Posted October 26, 2011 yeah actually in the original owners manual it tells you to do it to gain extra clearance when going off road. ha ha. It tells you to put it back when you go on the road. Caboobaroo Posted October 27, 2011 Share Posted October 27, 2011 Gen 1s are a lot harder to lower then the gen 2s as the torsion bars are separate from the subframe tube instead of inside them like the gen 2s. You'll need to pull the rear wheels, remove the lock down bolts that are close to the outside of the torsion bars (out by the wheels) and I had to use an air hammer with a chisel bit to get mine out.
