  1. that still makes no sense. It cant be part time if it is not selectable. It would be full time 4wd. It would act like a part time that was locked in 4wd mode if thats what you are trying to say. but that still wouldnt be part time because you wouldnt be able to unlock it.
  2. yes welding the center diff would not make it PT "part time" ? lol It would be 4wd all the time ha ha which could be good in a off road rig.
  3. I ran into problems like this with mine. I just ended up putting in a MT ecu and all was well.
  4. I believe you can change the stubs without cracking the case. I would need to varify this. But back 12 yrs ago when I didnt know much about cars I remember trying to do a cv shaft on a subaru. I didnt realize that there was pins on the axles. I beat both shafts out of the trans without removing the pins the stubs came out with the axles. then I transferred the stubs to the new axles. and put them back in. I remember it ended up working in the end. I would try it again but I havent had a need to change out any stubs. lol I suppose this would be assuming there wasnt a carrier change involved in the stub swap also?
  5. yes. right stuff is the stuff. ha ha. it does alot of ************. ha ha the only major problem with it is the fact that getting the stuff back apart after it has been right stuffed. can be a major chore. ha ha
  6. why not just make a new intake that way you actually could flow the air of a bigger carb. you probably could make a steel intake out of exhaust tubing with a pipe bender and some flanges real easy. I thought about doing that once. and then mounting a holley 650 to it.ha ha. but I realized like everyone else. there is no point because the heads wont flow enough anyway. but you probably could get at least more flow than the stock one.
  7. just ej swap the tracker. lol way easier and better as the trackers have a full frame and a real t-case. you could just use the toyota bellhousing adapter. in this thread. http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=111709&highlight=series+trans get a toyota trans and t-case out of the yard. Problem solved.
  8. this is true. and what I thought in the past but a ************ty clutch disc will bake in quick order. lol I have found that on very hard launches with my car the rear end was the weak link. I broke 3 of them. ha ha
  9. the 3 speeds are junk. do not use one they go out frequently with the stock engine. I would use a 6 puck carbon ceramic clutch disc. mine seems to grab very well.
  10. no. and the xt6 pressure plate probably wont hold that kind of power. maybe for a short time I guess. ha ha
  11. just get one of these. thats what I use in my car with 33s ha ha. http://www.walmart.com/ip/Garmin-nuvi-1300LM-4.3-Portable-GPS-with-Lifetime-Map-Updates/15266006
  12. crack open the case and weld up the front diff. ha ha you could do that if you had hubs that could disengage. because obviously you couldnt turn other wise ha ha.
  13. right stuff FTW. make sure to get every spec of oil off the mating surfaces with brake cleaner before you seal it. RTV will not adhere to the aluminum with oil on it. ha ha
  14. probably the only trans he will be able to use with this that may hold up is the EA bellhousinged 4EAT lol.
  15. yeah you should not use a vent to atmosphere bov on a vehicle that has a MAF sensor. It will cause driveability issues because the MAF sensor measured that air already that you are venting. lol If you use a standalone like I did on my TT. you can make it run without the MAF and just use the MAP sensor. It wont effect it then. I actually am in the process of modding a WRX intercooler on to mine. I welded all the doors open on the switching devices and deleted the BBOD. I will then use one BOV on the wrx intercooler and put a external wastegate on the front crossover pipe. Then it will tune like it has one really big turbo. ha ha.
  16. just use a gps. they are cheap these days. the speedo function seems to be very accurate on mine.
  17. As I posted earlier. the rear diff from an expedition or explorer with IFS would work most likely. You should be able to find a locker for one of those and probably a 4.1 3.9 I dont think is a factory ratio.
  18. I would but I have no cash at the moment. sorry ha ha I just bought a 1ton truck cash off the government auction site. last week ha ha
  19. yeah actually in the original owners manual it tells you to do it to gain extra clearance when going off road. ha ha. It tells you to put it back when you go on the road. I believe the tool kit that comes with it even has a wrench for it. lol well at least my 82 brat did ha ha
  20. You can literaly use any front knuckle assembly off any newer subaru. They all have the same ball joint and strut mounting. You can even swap to 5on4.5 if you wanted if you used a knuckle of an SVX or a newer STI ha ha
  21. ^makes no sense. lol how could it not have the correct components. ha ha
  22. yes it could be a fuel pump. you would have maxed out +fuel trims in the data while the low power was happening. put a fuel pressure gauge on it and drive it to see if the fuel pressure holds.watch to see if the pressure stays up even under WOT and max load.
