(WA) Need HG's done. Any MECHANICS?

Featured Replies

Got 2 99 outbacks w/ BHG's. I bought them to flip them, but got very busy at work, and theres no end in sight. So i just dont have time to do it myself. Is there anybody that's got the skills and time? I live in Lynnwood, Wa. Thanks

I do these all the time - but I'm down in Portland. Were you wanting to fix them or sell them as-is to someone that can do the repair?

If you remove the guts from the thermostat they will typically drive fine if the HG failure isn't too horrible. I've had a couple people drive their cars down to me from Seattle using that method.

If I lived in WA and needed anyone to work on my car I would SERIOUSLY hit up GD for the work, he definitely knows what he is doing on subies.

I could do them, I work on soob's all the time (my own fleet). PM me.

I live between Lynnwood, and Mill Creek.

SteelSeal. Used in My old Mazda (still ok after three years) and in my Son's 318 Dodge truck. Fine.

Don't know if it'll work OK in suby, but for a turn around it would probably be fine.

The car wouldn't make it to Portland. I barely made it 12 miles. Had to pull over 3 times to let it cool. I gutted the thermostat, and filled it with water and it just poked it out in 6 miles.

I have a trailer and I can tow them (one at a time) for about $150 each (gas and labor). You would save considerably more than that as "services" in general are about 32% lower priced here in the Portland than Seattle and I charge about 60% or less of what shops in my area charge. So for a $2500 job in Seattle I am usually around $1200. Ballpark of course..... I also typically replace more parts and use better quality ones than most shops.

Maybe we can work out a deal? As in i give you one of the outbacks, the one of less value, and you do mine plus some cash? If you're interested, we can talk on the phone and i can fill you in.

Bump this thread back up. Looking for someone local.

I'm still local and can do the work. I even sell the head gasket kits through the shop I work for.
