I closed the hood, with too much stuff on the spare tire.

 

I pulled on the release cable hard, with no good result. The cable seems to be in good condition.

 

Any tips for this situation? The radiator seems to block the hood latch mechanism.

if you have too much stuff stored on top of the spare; maybe try having someone hold down on the hood while you pull the release from within the car. it may release then..

pulll the cable, lock in pulled position with visegrip, push down on hood listen for click, hood should open. Good luck...........G
