I had to replace the knuckle on my 2001 forester. [because the CVJ shaft is stuck in the hub, and I need to replace the boots.]

 

Anyway, this is how I restored the camber setting when I reassembled it.

that will work with levels etc. Or you can be even quicker and use a chisel, along with spray paint...

I did mark them with a chisel... Or I should say thought I did. When I went to put the bolt back in place, I discovered I couldn't find the mark. [i don't get that, but whatever]

 

I also wasn't sure about how much play there would be, or if it would matter. So I used what I have laying around.

oh, on the chisel, mark the camber adjuster bolt shoulder head with the chisel. chisel it at your favorite clock position, or chisel it with something else for refefence and then also spray paint the entire knuckle before taking anything apart.....then you have 2 places to check on reassembly, your chisel mark on the bolt, and the paint marking edge. you could also chisel both bolt heads and make them in line with a straight edge. course there will be a top and a down on the camber adjustment bolt..
