tie rods? What else looks like a miniature cv axle connected to the interior of the strut assembly and has boots similar to the CV axle?

They are dust covers for the strut, to keep grit and grime off the chrome strut so the seal does not wear and leak.

Thanks, but they are actually on a rod that runs between the wheel assembly and the center of the car...smaller then and below and behind the CV axle...boots are towards the interior of the car..

Tie rods. It goes to your steering rack
