94 legacy turbo coolant filler tank has broken nipple(one of the bigger diameter hose fittings).Does anyone know of good fix or how to find a used turbo coolant filler tank?

There a few ways to repair using brass hose barb, threaded pipe etc and some jbweld to seal it.

 

You find a threaded pipe of any kind, brass, etc, and then thread it into your tank and epoxy it.

 

You can search and find the how-to's where they talk about it.

All the nipples crumbled off the tank in my friends 94 turbo wagon. He bought a new tank from the dealer instead of trying to mess with fixing it. It wasn't that bad of a price either.

 

You can also convert it to the newer style aluminum and steel tank.

Used will do you no good. They are all shot. Here was my repair - cost about $15 for the parts. That was over 3 years ago and about 30k miles. No signs of any kind of problem.

Out of my 5 or 6 turbo legacies, i have been lucky only one tank had a broken nipple. All my others have been fine. I got 2 spares now on a shelf, well one is attached to the engine still :-\

 

The whole thread title. "broken nipples" sounds like a nasty strip club issue. lol I suppose I would name a business that if I had one.
