Brat tailgate handle?

Featured Replies

So I picked up a spare door handle to replace my current bailing wire tailgate handle. BUT. I am not sure how its supposed to hook up, I heard the door handles were the same and it bolts on but not sure how to attach it to the rods and get it to open the tailgate latches. Anyone talk me through it or take a couple pics!?

They are the same handle.

You might have to switch the little plastic clamp to the other side of the lever....depending on with side door handle you got.

All door handles are the same on the BRAT plus (tailgate), wagon and cars. late 77-79 on cars and up to 81 on BRATs.

Any way to snap a quick picture of the backside showing how it attaches to the latches?

BlindSight,

Thought these images from the parts catalog may help:

Yeah I think im still missing part 14 in that picture, right now the rods that connect to the latches on either side have bailing wire wrapped through the little brackets so if you pull hard enough on the wire it pulls om both.
