March 23, 200422 yr Hey guys, I am wondering if there is any truth to some information I ran across about rebuilt EA82's. It was some source that offered rebuilt engines, claiming that the material in these older engine blocks was too thin to rebore. Is honing ok? I would like to pick up a short block EA82 from ccr engines, heard they were the best and they have a 3 year 36,000 mile warranty but I don't want to get something that's not going to last. What is the USRM, and where is it? thanks in advance Russell
March 24, 200422 yr Russell, click on the USRM up in the left corner of the most of the pages on this board. That's the Repair Manual...a work in progress. CCR is very reputable.Lots of folks here have dealt with them. Good luck. I'll be in Harrisburg May 21-23 for the Carlisle show.Join us if you get a Subaru or not.
March 24, 200422 yr Author Thanks a lot. That's what I heard about ccr, its good to have it confimed Russell
March 24, 200422 yr theres no problem with honing the block. By reboring you're going into dangerous territory according to some. Some say too thin, some say it will spin the sleeves in the alum. block.
