OTC Axle Install Tool

Featured Replies

Just dug this out of the toolbox after doing wheel bearings on a Brat. I forgot how handy this tool is. Despite being "RetroRoo" I seem to be working on a lot of old Legacy/1st Gen Outbacks instead of EA series cars lately. Both-- :(:)

This axle tool is Expensive, but worth it.

Combined with a hub tamer(that you don't really need but a few pieces of it did make it quicker), I was able to easily do them. If you don't know what a hub tamer/grapler is:

The hub grappler makes it easy for sure.

How does the axle tool work?

I've never found swapping axles hard, either removing or installing. Turn, Push/Pull and Wiggle and it always pops in thru the bearing. (Rear axles on the other hand is a different story) :)

Kinda a neat tool though, its like a "Blind Hole Puller" never knew it existed, but comes in handy!

I have one of those. Haven't seen it in 10 years. Will have to look to see if I still have it.
