4wd light issues

Featured Replies

My 4wd light is always on in my Brat as well:

2wd= 4wd light on

4wd hi = 4wd light on

4wd lo = 4wd & lo light on

I've heard it is a little sensor on the 4wd lever that gets stuck.

Someone else should elaborate on this, I'm looking for a fix as well. :D

I'll try to find that sensor and see if i can do something with it zzz

The sensor switch is bolted to the floor under the console by the hi-lo lever. Mine had the little plastic piece break off the switch when I was messing with the shifter a while ago, now the 4WD light stays on all the time. I'm pretty sure I saw the entire part on Rockauto.com for $12.03

I'm gonna start tearing more into it this weekend and hopefully It'll be simple fix :grin: and it's weird how it's not listed under 86 :-\

It's the top part listed... mine is busted too. Easy to get to, cheap fix.

I fixed mine on my Old 85 Hatch with 3 small zip ties and one Wire thingy off a loaf of wonder bread and a little squirt of Electode Spray cleaner.
