May 20, 201213 yr So I swapped rear disc brakes onto my Brat from an Rx. I was wondering, what do you do now for an emergency brake? Thanks for the info guys.
May 20, 201213 yr I must be missing something obvious but isn't the Brat's E-Brake on the fronts like my GL? I think you can use a Nissan caliper if you need a rear E-Brake on the brat.
May 21, 201213 yr So I swapped rear disc brakes onto my Brat from an Rx. I was wondering, what do you do now for an emergency brake? Pull the handle......E-brake is on the fronts.
May 22, 201213 yr Author Just to let you guys know I have a legacy front end on the Brat and the Rx rear disc set up doesn't have the e brake so that is what I am asking. Sorry should have included that.
May 22, 201213 yr Use this. The two options I know of are to swap to rear calipers that have an e-brake bracket on them (obk25xt is selling some, BTW) or swap to a hydraulic e-brake, which would make you less street legal. Jacob
May 23, 201213 yr Author Let me clarify. My Brat has a Legacy front end, with the five lugs. I swapped the rears with the Rx so I have disc all the way around. Being the legacy doesn't have the e brake in the front I was wondering what to do.
May 23, 201213 yr My 2 (well, 3, I guess) suggestions still apply to your case. Hydro or 200SX rear calipers. Jacob
May 23, 201213 yr I was combing the local PAP today & noticed Nissan Maxima rear calipers look similar to the 200SX ones. Checked rockauto for years & rear brake parts - 200SX have 30mm bores while 90-94 Maxima(3.0L V6) have 34mm bores. Same parking brake cable brackets & levers. Didn't check the pin spacing while there. Edited May 23, 201213 yr by czny
