SPFI fuel damper?

Featured Replies

I have an SPFI fuel pump from an EA subaru powered my ej22 powered offroader.I just found out that the little damper or regulator that is attached to the unit is leaking fuel.Is there anyway to just replace that with a 90* fitting and have no ill affects?

surely someone has had that little thing leak on them before.I just need to know if I can replace it with a new fitting or if I have to get a new fuel pump.

Only info I have that may not even help is I took the fuel dampers off our rally car when building it. I made new fuel lines for it and removed the dampers 100% Car is a 05 STI. There were no ill effects. Thats all I know.

Dampers are old school and not really necessary. The actual operation was all theory anyway. I have pulled them on over 100, yes 100, vehicles with no issues. As to your dillema... No sure which fitting you are talking about.

That part around here rusts out and leaks. Removed one from a Loyale not long ago and put on a different pump.

You might be able to just cut it off after the fuel line and cap the end some how. That part is crimped together.

There is a fuel damper on SPFI cars "after" that fuel line connection. Between the fuel pump and fuel filter.
