I have a 1990 legacy 2.2L LS and every time I start it up after its sat for a couple hours the rpms go way up to 2000 then They drop all the way down tell it almost dies. If I give it some gas for 30 secs it idels just fin after that. Any help on what could be the problem would be greatly appricated!!!

As with anything like this, start with a full tuneup.

 

What is the recent maint history, but it sounds like a tuneup may solve it.

I agree with nipper, needs a tune up. I would guess with out even seeing it and hearing it, the plugs are corroded. Possibly original? Haha. I've seen it happend.
