A friend has a 2010 Forester (not sure which trim) He asked me if he can add the steering wheel stereo controls. Does anyone have any experience with this upgrade?

 

According to the owners manual, it looks like there are two stereos available in 2010. One with a 6 disk and one with a single CD. Were the steering/stereo controls only available with the 6 disk?

I don't know whether you can add the controls, but typically the wiring will probably be there. You might have to swap steering wheels as well as stereos to get the controls. I'm not sure how they're integrated.

 

Hopefully someone else will chime in with some experience.
