1990 legacy bolt pattern

Featured Replies

So I know for a fact that the bolt pattern is different on a 1998 legacy because I tried to put those wheels on my 1990. Looking online for bolt pattern charts shows anything above 1990 legacys to have the same pattern... Where can I get the actual information?

Lug pattern?

Its 5X100 for Subaru Legacy from 1990-2013

Its 5X100 for Subaru Impreza from 1993-2013 (except 2005+ STi - thats 5X114)

Its 5X100 for Subaru Forester from 1998-2013

Unless the hubs were converted they should fit.

Perhaps you have a Loyale not a Legacy?

All Subaru 5 lug are the same except SVX and late STI's.

Everything else is 5x100

Wheel diameter must be adaquate for brakes......so a 14" wheel won't fit on a newer car that came with 15" or 16" rims......won't clear the brakes.

But 98 wheels on a 90 should work fine, if they are both Legacies.

Just for future reference, the soon to be dropped Tribeca is also 5x114.

I thought the new Outbacks are 5x114 too?

Actually I though the Legacy line went 5x114 in '05 with the "bubble" body change.

1990 to at least 2004 Legacy, Impreza, Forester: definitely 5x100.

I know till at least 2009 the Legacy and Outback are 5x100.

The bolt pattern on the cars you mentioned are the same but the brakes on the 98 might be bigger and kept you from putting a 14" wheel from the 1990 on the 98 is all I can think of.

Shawn,

I thought this too, but he was going 'backwards' and they will fit....unless they were OB tires - 205-70R-15. They won't fit under the strut spring perches.
